Released in 1996 for the N64 is the first 3d game in the Mario franchise. The game is still considered a classic today and any fan of nintendo in the 90s will recognize it.
Pokemon Cards
These collectable traiding cards based on the Pokemon franchise took off in the later 90s and retained popularity into the 2000s. The recent trend of opening boxes of cards on platforms such as twitch and youtube has brought popularity back to the trend, with some of the original cards selling for thousands of dollars to collectors.
Sonic The Hedgehog
The sidecrolling scrolling platform which started the entire Sonic franchise came out 1991 and stars the titular character designed by sega as a direct competitor to Nintendo's Mario. Sonic's games and tv show spin-offs will always be indebted to 90s culture.
